When brands become more important to you than people, something is definetly going wrong.
In our modern society brands try to be your friends and if you allow them to built up that close relationship you're either going to end up socially distant or with a lot less money in your pockets.
But why is that?
Do you know who you really are?
Have you figured out everything about yourself yet?
About your personality?
No?
Me neither
or ..Wait..perhaps...you know who you are but are too scared of how people around you might react if they find out....
You know what, this question is way to complicated...isn't it much more convenient to simply pick a brand that tells you who you are?
APPLE - wealthy and smart, white, sterile, perfectly designed interior + lifestyle
ALNATURA - sustainability in person, decent, health is important, fair trade, when products are eco friendly why not buy heaps?
NIKE - sporty, young, fashionable- but not in a way that makes you stand out of the crowd
BMW - cars are your passion, their speed, smell and price- why buy an expensive car in a village where nobody can see it? Of course improvements in technology are more important when buying a fancy car than your neighbours reactions
NESPRESSO - preference for strong coffee that comes along with designer cups, capsules and coffee machines, George Clooney fan, as a family member you get free coffee at every store
DELL - passion for computers, easiness and a decent lifestyle
Gucci - of course you only buy gucci because you value the quality of the goods and accept the price, again- you probably don’t live in a village
Have you found yourself in any of these brands?
These are just a few of thousands of companies that sell personalities and experiences. But honestly who needs a friend that is constantly asking for money?
With brands I want to keep that relationship rather simple, a bit like with old acquaintances who visit you every now and then.

Sometimes looking down is a better way to look up
